Woodchester Valley, near Stroud, was established in 2007 when a single acre was planted on our Amberley site to assess the suitability of the land for growing vines. The first vintage, a crisp dry Bacchus was produced from the 2010 harvest. This was followed by a further planting in 2011, with the Woodchester site planted in 2012 (20 acres), and Doverow in 2013 (another 20 acres). Their own onsite winery was established in 2016, with the 2016 vintage being the first produced on site.
The sparkling English Sparkling Cotswold Classic 2020 is a blend of 50% Seyval Blanc, 30% Pinot Blanc and 20% Reserve Wine.
With fresh citrus notes, aromas of red apple and subtle stone fruits, this wine has a great mid-palate structure and a balance that is nicely rounded with good effervescence. The lees ageing brings some aromas of pastry and brioche reminiscent of a delicious apple pie.
