Winemakers in Burgundy since 1453, the current generation of the Nudant family manages some 16 hectares of small parcels dotted throughout the Cote d’Or. The 4 vineyards for this wine, at 320 meters, are located in the small village of Vosne-Romanée, and have been harvested by the Domaine Nudant since 2006. The vines are more than 50 years old. Vineyard work is all carried out by hand, in the spirit of minimal intervention.
Notes of bramble and blackberry with both red and dark cherries. The staggering complexity with white pepper, wet forest floor, sauteed mushrooms and the warm cinnamon bark from the oak marry impeccably. The 2021 wine is vigorous, intense and bold and really benefits from decanting in its youth. It will cellar for at least 5-8 years and rewards aging. Red meat and game served with mushrooms will go best with this exceptional wine.
