Viña von Siebenthal, Parcela #7

For over two decades, Mauro von Siebenthal, a Swiss lawyer and wine aficionado, had a dream. In 1998, with the financial support of four friends, Viña von Siebenthal finally became a reality. Viña von Siebenthal’s harmonious philosophy has produced an extremely elegant wine which eloquently expresses the extraordinary characteristic of the Valle de Aconcagua terroir.

The Parcela #7 is a Bordeaux-style blend from Viña von Siebenthal in Panquehue, Aconcagua Valley in Chile. A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Petit Verdot, 15% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, this combined with 14 months barrel age you could be fooled for thinking you were by the Gironde not at the foothills of the Andes.

The Viña von Siebenthal, Parcela #7 has plenty of red currant fruit and redberry-scented bouquet with touches of sous-bois, hazelnut and aromatic herbs. A medium-bodied wine with supple tannins and pure blackcurrant mixed with black pepper, sage and cured meats. It is very well-balanced and fresh; the finish supple and in tune with the oak.
