The Tangerine Dream is one of the most experimental of the Smallfry wines. A scintillating skin-contact orange wine from biodynamically-farmed aromatic varieties in the Barossa Valley.
This skin-contact field blend of Semillon, Pedro Ximenes, Riesling, Roussanne and Muscat is the embodiment of Wayne Ahrens’ creative winemaking exploration, a left of centre amber wine for this region so steeped in tradition. A lot of the vines were planted before the first world war.
And quite simply, it is down-right delicious. We love it when winemakers broaden their horizons and just give something a go. Sometimes when you take a chance you can end up in a Tangerine Dream.
Natural, unfiltered orange / amber wine, with the hint of Seville orange bitterness typical of the style. Soft, rounded, and very drinkable, with flavours of pink grapefruit, apricot and black pepper.
