This tiny 7.3-hectare property has been referred to as a ‘vin de garage’. Stéphane Derenoncourt has been consultant for many years and Rol Valentin is now one of the most sought-after Saint Emilion in Bordeaux. The wines are intense, deep and rich, and made in tiny quantities.
Blend is 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc
In the glass the colour is dark purple red with violet hue and black core. On the nose this is very aromatic with hints of vanilla, toasted oak, and ripe dark berries. On the palate the wine is showing some youth with well-structured tannins and opulent ripe red and black berry fruit.
