Pulenta La Flor, Malbec

Pulenta Estate was founded in 2002 by brothers Hugo and Eduardo Pulenta, fourth-generation winemakers, with the goal of translating their family legacy and their father’s pioneering spirit into a modern, innovative winery focused on producing limited quantities of great wines. They have quickly carved out a reputation for precise, elegant wines across a range of varieties and premium price points. The estate consists of two vineyards located in key areas of Mendoza: Finca La Zulema in Agrelo and Viñedos Don Antonio in Los Arboles, a district of the Uco Valley. These contrasting vineyards have complex alluvial soils and distinct altitudes which, when blended, help give Pulenta wines their distinctive style. The signature style of Pulenta is built on finesse, silky texture and elegant fruit character, while displaying the typical power and depth of fruit that is expected of Argentinian wines. Their range features youthful wines under the Bodega La Flor label, bottled and released after 3 months in oak.

The grapes for this wine come from the vineyards of the La Zulema estate, Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo and Don Antonio Vineyards, Los Arboles, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Mendoza. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and concrete. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete. The wine is then aged for 4-6 months in second and third use barrels.

Pulenta La Flor, Malbec – On the nose its aroma is full of red fruits ripe with slight floral violet tones, which are accompanied by delicate notes of vanilla and tobacco from the wood. In mouth it is packed with ripe blackberry, plum and cherry. It is round, with good character and notable structure, it has gentle tannins that give it great complexity and a memorable finish.
