Brunier, a producer more famous for the big Chateauneuf-du-Pape Vieux Telegraphe has created a real gem here. The Pigeoulet is produced from two separate vineyards. The first is a 7ha parcel in the municipality of Caromb in the Côtes de Ventoux, while the second is a 3ha vineyard situated right on the boundary of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The average age of the vines is 25 years old.
This wine is beautiful, exuberant and stylish, medium to full-bodied richness with a fleshy, ripe, and a supple profile. There’s an edge of cherry fruit with a herby quality that makes this wine so versatile. It may throw a fine sediment so would benefit from decanting.
