Domaine de Durban must be one of the most gloriously situated estates in the whole of France. The property has a charming house with a panoramic view over the Ventoux in three different directions.
Henri Leydier makes their delicious vin doux from 25 hectares of 35-year-old vines of Muscat à petits grains, obtaining a yield which is never in excess of 30hl/ha. The grapes are harvested manually and after a long cold fermentation in tank, the wine is left on its fine lees for 4 to 5 months before bottling after a light filtration.
This Muscat de Beaumes de Venise expresses itself with finesse. Delicate flavours tingle the tongue with notes of pear and apricot. Produced in stainless steel tank at 15°C, bringing a volume of 7 to 10% neutral alcohol, to limit fermentation to a density of approximately 1050 so that at least 110 grams of sugar remain per litre.
