Domaine de Champagne Louis Brochet, a récoltant-manipulant [winegrower/producer], has been producing Champagne for 4 generations. Since 1943 it has been located at Ecueil, classified 1er Cru in Montagne de Reims. Today, Hélène and Louis Brochet produce a range of different types of champagnes from the 13 hectares of their 50 vineyard plots.
Rooted in the Brochet family’s DNA, respect for the environment and preservation of the terroir are now, more than ever, central tenets in their development. To support these objectives, in the Domaine the soil is worked to gradually reduce weeding, chemical insecticides are not applied, and natural organic fertilisers are used. In 2017, Domaine Louis Brochet obtained HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale: High Environmental Quality) and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne certifications.
TheLouis Brochet NV Heritage Brut, Champagne is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier. Delicate gold in colour, beaded with extremely fine bubbles forming an elegant cordon of foam on the surface of the glass. Its intense nose reveals a delicate blend of white fruit (apples, pears), honey, vanilla and acacia. Blending ensures a consistency, which reveals a complex, harmonious character, and leaves an impression of lightness and fullness with a long final note of mint and aniseed.
