Les Pierres Plates, Reuilly Blanc, Denis Jamain

Domaine de Reuilly is located right in the heart of the appellation of Reuilly, in the Loire Valley. Using sustainable farming methods and lutte raisonée since 1997 Denis Jamain is producing wine with methods that respect the land with minimal intervention. In the early 90s, Denis Jamain decided out of passion for the vineyard to take up the torch and acquire a beautiful set of plots in the town of Reuilly, a real starting point for the development of the Domaine.

After leading the operation in sustainable management for many years, he converted to organic farming in 2007 (certified by Veritas) and biodynamy in 2011 (certified by Demeter). The Estate of Denis Jamain has four main places called: Les Coignons, Les Pierres Plates, Les Chatillons, Les Conges, on which 14 ha of White Sauvignon, 5 ha of Pinot noir and 4 ha of Pinot gris are planted.

Denis Jamain is undoubtedly the star of Reuilly, a village situated to the west of Sancerre. Denis’ wines often outperform the more celebrated names of the Loire valley, and his Pierres Plates cuvée is arguably his best. Made from old vines in a vineyard rich in slabs of flat limestone, it is a clean, mineral expression of Sauvignon Blanc The cool 2021 vintage has given a cool, energetic feel to this wine, along with a stinging, saline finish.
