Situated in the heart of South-West France, the Plaimont vineyards stretch from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the hills and valleys of Gascony covering a uniquely rich terroir. With a combination of local grape varieties, knowledge and rigorous hard work, the members of the Plaimont cooperative have succeeded in producing extremely high quality wines from the terroirs of Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, Saint Mont and Côtes de Gascogne.
The grapes producing this wine are grown on a terroir that is geologically unique to Madiran, ancient gravelly-clay soils which favour water drainage. These soils are predominately found midway up the appellation’s very steep slopes and express classic Madiran at its most noble. An oceanic, temperate climate with mild winters and hot, stormy summers.
The Grèvière 2019 is a powerful, deep and brooding wine. An incredible concentration of dark fruit, tobacco and leather but with an alluring perfume and spice. Very approachable with good bottle age.
