Domaine Joseph Roty, Bourgogne Rouge, Cuvée de Pressonnier

Joseph Roty is one of the smaller domaines in Burgundy, but one with a solid fanbase. It boasts one of the largest concentrations of old vines in the region, averaging 65 years. Cuvée de Pressonnier is produced from a selection of these old vines, the majority of which were historically classified as Gevrey-Chambertin (until the boundary was moved in 1964). Domaine Joseph Roty Bourgogne Rouge Cuvée de Pressonnier 2021 is a medium-to-full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Bourgogne appellation in the Côte d`Or.

The wines are crafted in a traditional way with a firm focus on ripe fruit and beautifully integrated tannins. The Cuvée de Pressonnier is a wonderful plot that produces grapes far better than their Bourgogne Rouge status. This wine is ripe and fruit-forward with savoury notes, perfectly ripe tannins and a long, succulent finish that welcomely lingers.  Earthy, gamey and complex yet still retaining sweet cherry fruit.
