The Sambardier family from Manoir du Carra have been our ‘go-to’ Beaujolais producers for many years. They have 35 hectares of vineyards with the 19ha of Villages on exceptionally exposed granite slopes in the southern Beaujolais hills above Denicé, where they have been for generations.
This Crémant de Bourgogne Brut, from one of our favourite Beaujolais producers, is a real find. Made from 100% Chardonnay it has classic biscuity, doughy nose comparable with a good Champagne. It has good weight of fruit with depth of flavour and an elegant brioche finish. With very good balance of fruit and fresh acidity it is eminently drinkable.
