Château La Fleur de Boüard comes from the profound belief of its owner, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, (consultant and co-owner of Château Angelus) in the rich potential of Lalande-de-Pomerol terroirs. Supported by his daughter, Coralie, he applies his technical and oenological know-how in a new, environmentally friendly approach to wine growing. With precision and sustainable purpose, the de Boüard family makes wines with outstanding elegance that compare with the greatest Bordeaux appellations.
2015 is blended with 82% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit from each individual plot is vinified separately using gravity alone in small truncated cone-shaped tanks. The wine is then aged in oak for 18 to 24 months in barrels, of which 75% are new. No fining or filtration.
The nose is fleshy and ripe, full of plums, baked cherries, mulberries and a touch of violet and cinnamon. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft and packed with fruit – black cherries, blueberries and cassis. There are touches of nutmeg spice too. The tannins are soft and ripe with a nice bit of grip, giving the wine a velvet texture.
