Château la Courançonne, Rasteau

The history of Château la Courançonne began in 1631 when the vines were first planted on the stoney soils of the Plan de Dieu in the Rhone Valley, now 40 hectares. With just 3 ha of vines in Rasteau, Ch la Courançonne are small producers making great wine. Following 12 generations in the Meffre family it was bought in 2019 by Alain Aubert who continues the small family grower tradition.

The Château la Courançonne, Rasteau is produced from a rich blend of Grenache, Syrah, & Mourvèdre. Lashings of ripe dark cherry & raspberries dusted with sweet & savoury spice and liquorice on the finish. Decadently textured with smooth, liqueur-like tannins. Throws a sediment so benefits from decanting.
