Chateau Grand Moulin, Le Cayre Grenache, Frédéric Bousquet

The visionary winemaker Jean-Noël Bousquet bought his first hectare of vines at the age of 17. Over the years growing the business but always concentrating on characterful, mindful wine production. In 2014 he was joined by his son Frédéric Bousquet who is now at the helm.

Chateau Grand Moulin is based in Lézignan-Corbières with 130 hectares, over 250 different plots. The wines are certified from a High Environmental Value farm (HVE level 3 label). Nestled 35 meters above the Orbieu River, the Le Cayre 4-hectare vineyard is situated on a terrace made up of pebbles deposited by the floods during the great glaciations.

The grapes are harvested at night to maintain freshness and are 100% destemmed. Maceration occurs for up to 35 days with pigeage, allowing for optimal extraction. The wine is then aged in stainless steel vats to preserve its vibrant fruity character.

The Le Cayre Grenache is bursting with juicy, vibrant red berries and black cherry, this wine is enhanced by delicate hints of black pepper and herbal nuances. Rich and smooth, it showcases ripe tannins, perfectly balanced with a touch of black olive on the palate. Well-structured, it delivers a long, satisfying finish.
