The Domaine de Papolle, Côtes de Gascogne Blanc

In the heart of the Bas Armagnac vineyard (South-West), the origin of Papolle dates back to the 17th century with its production of great Bas Armagnacs, which is perpetuated. Today, their aromatic and gourmet white wines also occupy an important place in the estate’s production.

Spread over 135 hectares, including 55 hectares of vines, the Domaine de Papolle is a private property in the heart of the city. Established in the 17th century, the estate is bordered by woods and lakes that have made it a unique haven of peace where nature can express itself.

The Côtes de Gascogne is produced from local grape varieties such as Colombard, Ugni-Blanc, Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng, as well as more traditional Sauvignon and Chardonnay grape varieties. These grape varieties, alone or blended, offer lively wines with aromatic power and complexity tinged with notes of fruit, festive character, easy to drink. They will make excellent aperitifs and will be a wonderful accompaniment to shellfish, white meats, and cheeses.

The Domaine de Papolle Côtes de Gascogne Blanc is harvested by machine, at night when it’s nice and cool. Closed inert circuit from pressing onwards, followed by 4 to 8 days of cold stabilization. Fermentation in stainless steel using selected yeasts and aging on fine lees for four months.

The nose on this wine gives tropical fruit and floral notes. Following through on the palate with white fruit and mango, a lovely mineral backbone, leading through to a citrus and mineral finish.
