Mauricio Lorca is an independent winemaker in Argentina who is well known for producing fresh wines without oak so that the purity of the fruit shines through into your glass. Mauricios own vineyards are in Vista Flores in the Uco Valley, an area that he was early in recognising as having fantastic wine making potential. The fact that all of his wines are made from his own Vista Flores fruit even the lower priced ones is something that sets them apart in terms of quality and value.
Recoleta Malbec expresses lots of juicy red and black fruit combined with notes of cracked pepper and earth on the nose. Juicy red currants, plums, raspberry and black cherries fill out the palate with a savoury dried herb undertone. A lovely, easy drinking malbec with a little bottle age. A great party wine especially in Magnum.
