Pulenta Estate was founded in 2002 by brothers Hugo and Eduardo Pulenta, fourth-generation winemakers, with the goal of translating their family legacy and their father´s pioneering spirit into a modern, innovative winery focused on producing limited quantities of great wines. They have quickly carved out a reputation for precise, elegant wines across a range of varieties and premium price points. The estate consists of two vineyards located in key areas of Mendoza: Finca La Zulema in Agrelo and Viñedos Don Antonio in Los Arboles, a district of the Uco Valley. These contrasting vineyards have complex alluvial soils and distinct altitudes which, when blended, help give Pulenta wines their distinctive style. The signature style of Pulenta is built on finesse, silky texture and elegant fruit character, while displaying the typical power and depth of fruit that is expected of Argentinian wines.
The grapes for this wine come from Finca La Zulema vineyards in Agelo. Fermented 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in French oak barrels. 50% of the wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barrels. 50% of the wine is aged for 9 months in new French oak barrels.
Pulenta Estate Chardonnay VIII – On the nose it is suffused with tropical fruits, notes of toasted almonds and honey, which is not surprising given its passage through French oak barrels. In the mouth it is intense and smooth, with ripe fruits and butterscotch along with a balanced acidity achieving an elongated and elegant finish.
