At Domaine Franck Lamargue, Franck Lamargue has been running the 12 hectare domaine based in the village of Le Rochepot, just over the hill from Sant Aubin, since 2005. The vineyards are worked organically and the grapes harvested by hand. A new winery is currently being constructed which will enable Franck to continue to expand his increasingly successful estate. All the wines are vinified in barrel.
The lesser known Côte d’Or village of Maranges is the southernmost appellation of the Côte de Beaune, lying 5km south of Chassagne-Montrachet and making similarly rich and elegant wines.
The Maranges Vignes Blanches is fresh and fruity with just the right amount of oak. Classically matured in new and used oak barrels there are aromas of white flowers, lemon, peach and stone fruits leading onto a soft and fresh palate with those oaky, creamy notes coming through balanced by clean acidity. Highly enjoyable and rewarding young Côte de Beaune white.
