Jean-Luc Colombo is a producing award winning wines in the Rhone. Named in the world’s top 100 wineries, he is a dynamic, innovative winemaker. With family origins in Marseille, Jean-Luc moved in 1982, with his wife Anne, to Cornas in the heart of the Rhône Valley, to set up their winery and oenology lab. Today, as well as owning vineyards in Cornas, they are pioneering vineyard development in the stunning ‘Blue Coast’ area.
A beautiful example of silky Syrah (the wine is bottled after seven months and is not oak-aged). On the nose there’s a touch of violets and aromas of raspberries, wild strawberries and a little garrigue. These follow nicely on to the palate which is refined and balanced giving a nice fresh feel to it. There’s just a hint of gentle tannins, but overall it has a very welcoming silky, round character.
