Created in January 2009, Oedoria is a cooperative formed from the merger of three long-standing wineries in Beaujolais. With over 300 smaller winegrower cooperative members covering more than 1000 hectares of diverse terroirs across the Beaujolais des Pierres Dorées area. Today, Oedoria is proud to be the sole cooperative winery in Beaujolais to produce its own Crémants de Bourgogne, including the much lauded ‘Cuvée Or’.
You’ll notice fine bubbles and light fresh citrus and floral aromas on the nose with lemony notes that will awaken your taste buds. On the palate, you are presented with fresh peach and freshness and floral notes, that are well rounded as you would expect from a Chardonnay.
This 100% Chardonnay Cremant de Bourgogne is a fresh and fruity example, with inital juicy flavours of nectarine and peach followed by a richer, toasty brioche character that continues onto a long finish. Excellent value for money.
Since its inception, Oedoria has always looked to the principles of sustainability in its approach to its viticultural practices. From tilling the soil to green harvesting, the farming methods are constantly improved with a growing importance given to observation and sharing information, to be better prepared for risks and reduce the use of agrochemicals as much as possible. This deliberately integrated approach is a testament to Oedoria’s commitment to respecting the land, its vines, its coop members but also its end consumers.
