Chateau Grand Moulin, Cocbiroux Bourboulenc, Frédéric Bousquet

The visionary winemaker Jean-Noël Bousquet bought his first hectare of vines at the age of 17. Over the years growing the business but always concentrating on characterful, mindful wine production. In 2014 he was joined by his son Frédéric Bousquet who is now at the helm.

Chateau Grand Moulin is based in Lézignan-Corbières with 130 hectares, over 250 different plots. The Cocbiroux Bourboulenc is produced from a 1h50 plot. Situated 35 metres above the Orbieu River, resting on a terrace made up of pebbles deposited by the floods during the great glaciations. The wines are certified from a High Environmental Value farm (HVE level 3 label).

The grapes are harvested at night to preserve their natural acidity and freshness. They are then gently pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature of 14-16°C. The wine is aged on its lees in oak for 4 months, adding depth and complexity to its character.

The wine presents a fresh nose, with aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers, honey, and a hint of almond. On the palate, it is rich and well-structured, offering a round yet elegant mouthfeel, balanced by a delightful and refreshing acidity.
