Since 1630, Château de Respide has embedded the mission of enhancing life through its wines; intense and timeless. The “Graves” denomination refers to the terroir and underlines the major role played in the quality its wines. It is actually the only denomination in France bearing the name of its soil. “Las gravas de Bordeu”, literally “the Bordeaux gravels”. They are alluvial stones carried by Garonne river and deposited on its banks millions of years ago. Rooted in the heart of Bordeaux vineyard, in the middle of unspoiled nature, the Respide estate draws its strength from the diversity of its terroirs.
Since the 1980s, woods, hedges, wagtail nesting boxes and beehives have made nature feel at home at Respide. Their environmental concerns include ach grape and wine, whose production stage is analyzed to get lowest possible impact. They are working towards producing a great wine with no environmental impact and with the lowest possible carbon footprint. Since 2017, Château de Respide has been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) This certification also recognizes seriousness and care paid to sustainable practices.
Emblematic red blend of the Respide vineyard, composed of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. From a terroir of deep gravel, this garnet-red wine is aged for 6 months in oak tuns to preserve suppleness and radiance. It has an aromatic fresh fruit underpinned by some chocolate and toasted notes. The intense palate combines freshness and suppleness.
