Situated in the famous Saint-Émilion appellation, Chateau Barde-Haut is a historic estate dating back 250 years. Patrice Lévêque and Hélène Garcin-Lévêque devote all their energy to ensuring this estate of enormous potential improves in quality and reputation every day.
The vines of Chateau Barde-Haut are ideally located in a natural amphitheatre facing due south and overlooking the Dordogne. The estate’s soils include the limestone bedrock of Saint-Emilion as well as clay, which lends strength to the wines.
A blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%).
The Chateau Barde-Haut is a deep violet hue, almost ink-like. On the nose is it expressive, exuding refined and fresh notes of smoke, plum, and black cherry. A smooth and creamy tannic structure blends with very mature tannins and a juicy expression leading to a persistent finish. A precise and elegant St Emilion Grand Cru.
