Bourgogne Rouge, JP Brun

Jean-Paul Brun is quite a legend in Beaujolais. He works organically and avoids sulphite use, creating Beaujolais Villages wines. He is also striking out on the limestone soils of his vineyards in Charnay which are ideal for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The additional warmth and granitic soils of the ‘Terres Dorees’ give this Pinot a vibrancy and character all of its own. Retaining the elegance of Burgundy, yet with a little more of a wild side. Enjoy it for it’s youthfulness and energy.

This JP Brun Bourgogne rouge has a young and vibrant bouquet of cherries, pomegranate, beetroot, a complex base of soil tones, woodsmoke and a lovely floral topnote redolent of peonies. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and youthful, with a fine core of fruit, excellent transparency and grip, moderate tannins, still some youthful stem tones and a long, tangy finish.
