229 Syrah, De Visu, Selection Parcellaire

A charming southern French wine from the ever talented Xavier Roger. The number on the wine label derives from the grape growth cycle. Exactly 229 days have passed from the flowering to the harvest of the Syrah grapes. With hot, sunny and dry summers, the area’s climatic conditions are perfect for letting the Syrah grape reach its optimum ripeness, while maintaining its natural elegance and balance.

A great wine, brimming with black fruit aromas, this is bold and full-bodied with a dense, ripe palate, hints of blueberry and an underlay of black olive. The finish is unctuous, juicy and lingers and the tannins are silky soft.
